Austen Davis
Austen Davis has worked in the Global Health section of the Norwegian Development Cooperation Agency (Norad) since 2013. Austen is responsible for Norad’s engagement in diverse areas, including: information and accountability, maternal and newborn care, risk factors related to health (e.g. nutrition, water/sanitation, clean air, clean energy, education) and Universal Health Coverage – including expanding access to NCD care and Essential medicines for NCDs.
Previously, Austen worked for Medecins sans Frontieres in a range of different positions and countries and served as the General Director for MSF Holland between 1999 and 2004. Austen has also worked for UNICEF in Somalia, the Norwegian Refugee Council and as a consultant.
With a background in nutrition (M.SC. Cornell University) and health policy (M.SC. LSHTM/LSE), as well as practical experience managing projects and investments in humanitarian and development contexts, Austen has a broad set of experiences and interests focused on human capital development and welfare service provision.
