Jesper Simonsen

Jesper Simonsen is Professor of Participatory Design, Department of People and Technology at Roskilde University, Denmark. Since 1991 he has conducted Participatory Design research in collaboration with industry – focused on how information technology designers can cooperate with users and their management especially when relating to the clarification of goals, formulation of needs, and designing, implementing, realizing, and evaluating coherent visions for change. He has since 2005 continually managed action research driven Participatory Design projects in collaboration with the Danish healthcare sector. Together with Morten Herzum he has analyzed and described the competences needed in local organizations when information systems are adapted to work practices (International Journal of Human-Computer Systems, 2019).
