Treshold – A Tipping Point for Scandinavian Healthcare Design
Date: Monday, November 11th, 2019
Time: 10:30 – 16:00
Location: Design and Architecture Norway (DOGA), Hausmanns gate 16, 0182 Oslo
We are at a pivotal time in history for Scandinavian healthcare design. There is a great potential for design to move from one-off, small-scale projects toward more transformative aims within our healthcare systems. Design has been sowing the seeds of change across the health systems of Norway, Denmark and Sweden for the last decade. We believe that now is the moment to come together, take stock and build a collective vision for how we can move healthcare design in Scandinavia forward.
Treshold is one-day working session that will bring together healthcare professionals, designers, researchers and leaders to identify opportunities for advancing the healthcare design agenda. The program will include sharing stories of healthcare design initiatives driven by Experio Lab in Sweden, the Danish Design Center in Denmark and the Center for Connected Care (C3) in Norway, among others. Together we will look at what has been done at the intersection design and health across this region and highlight strategic directions for the future of this important work.
The insights from this interactive working session will be synthesized into a bold, but humble manifesto for advancing Scandinavian healthcare design in the next decade. Join us and help us understand how design can more strategically shape the future of health and care. In addition to capturing collective visions for the future, this session will include concrete actions to move toward the development of an active network that can support Scandinavian healthcare design efforts to have greater impact. Prior to the conference, a short survey will be sent to all participants to capture their initial ideas on future directions and assess the level of interest in a long-term network.
This pre-conference is hosted by the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) and Design and Architecture Norway (DOGA), with collaboration from partners across Scandinavia.
