His risk management expertise comes from over 15 years as an NHS paramedic and Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) Support Manager, plus four years inspecting providers as a CQC Specialist Advisor.

Nick believes compliance should act as an enabler of care rather than a defensive barrier, advocating for pragmatic application of global standards like ISO 14971 over administrative inertia.
Outside of work, he chairs Newport Rugby Club’s youth section. Running youth rugby parallels health tech governance: wrapping players in bubble wrap doesn’t build resilience or safety; it stifles development.
As Clinical Safety Officer, he has ensured transformative AI tools and medical devices are deployed safely on the frontline, where clinicians and patients need them most. As a CQC lead, he has ensured innovative new care providers have achieved a 100% success rate in gaining CQC registration.
