Health data doesn’t yet speak one language
Healthcare data shouldn’t be locked into a single format that can never change, or trapped in silos that prevent one system from talking to another. What if health data could be structured once, shared freely, and used forever?
In this session we look at different ways to align health data in a way to free them from a technical solution. The goal is, as OpenEHR describes it, an architectural concept that includes the lifelong, patient‑centric shared health record, future‑proof data and clinical process support.
We need people willing to work across boundaries
v/Jordi Piera Jiménez leader and CEO for OpenEHR
“Health interoperability will not be solved by any single standard, and certainly not by any single organisation. It will be solved by people willing to work across boundaries, share what they learn, and keep patients and health systems at the centre. That is what I intend to do at openEHR International.” That was what Jordi Piera Jiménez said when appointed as leader and CEO for OpenEHR.
In this presentation, he will argue that the future of health interoperability does not belong to any single standard, but rather to the people and systems that standards are meant to serve. His track record of working across openEHR, HL7 FHIR, SNOMED and international policy frameworks reflects a deep belief that collaboration between Standards Development Organizations is not a nice-to-have, it is the only path forward.
How to get health data moving
v/Mikael Rinnetmäki, Founder, Sensotrend
How to get health data moving by participating in the development of interoperability standards for healthcare IT in HL7 Finland, HL7 Europe, HL7 International, and in the EURIDICE initiative. Mikael has extensive experience in European and Nordic collaboration projects focused on digital health. Mikael lives with type 1 diabetes and also advocates for patients’ rights through patient associations.
He will eleborate on how to balance the discussion from HL7 FHIR and OMOP sides. And which parties should get which rights over the data, and how.
