World-class at home, invisible abroad? Why Nordic eHealth struggles to scale
The Nordic countries have some of the world’s most digitised health services, unique health data and high trust between citizens and authorities. But how does Nordic health innovation hold up in the global health market?
In this session we discuss what is unique about the technology developed in the Nordic welfare states, and how Nordic companies compete in the open international market. Many technology companies struggle to grow beyond their home market, while others, particularly in life science, have become global players. What can we learn from the companies that started here and are now out in the world? And what must industry, health services and authorities do differently to turn Nordic innovation into Nordic export?
