Svava María Atladóttir

Svava Maria Atladottir is Special Advisor to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health of Iceland, focusing on national transformation initiatives. She previously served as Chief Transformation Officer and Executive Director at Landspítali University Hospital, where she led the development of technological capabilities, fostered a culture of innovation, and drove strategic healthcare transformation. Her career spans healthcare, innovation, and engineering, with prior roles at IDEO, Abbott Vascular Devices, and GE Medical Systems. She is co-founder of Future Medical Systems and co-author of Healthcare by Design (University of Toronto Press, 2025) and Discovery Design (2018). She is based in Reykjavík, Iceland.
