Riina Sikkut
Riina Sikkut (1983) has been the Minister of Health of the Republic of Estonia from 23 July 2024.
Sikkut joined the Social Democratic Party in 2018 and serves as the party’s deputy chairman. In 2023-2023, she was the Minister of Health and in 2022–2023, she was the Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure.
In 2019–2022, she was a member of the 14th Riigikogu, and in 2018–2019, she was the Minister of Health and Labour.
In 2017–2018, she was an advisor of social and health policy at the Government Office. In 2011–2017, she was a health policy programme analyst at the Praxis Political Research Centre and in 2012–2013, served as its programme manager.
Sikkut graduated from the University of Tartu in 2005 with a degree in economy; in 2010, she graduated with a master’s degree in health policy from the University of London.
